Filet Table Lamp
A single lace table runner is patterned into a continuous slip and stretched over a form, transforming a familiar domestic textile into a volumetric object. The delicate, two-dimensional material is hardened with resin, fixing its softness into a permanent structure while preserving its intricate detail.
Through this process, the work recontextualizes lace, elevating it from surface decoration to structural form. What is typically understood as fragile and ornamental is instead made durable and load-bearing, holding tension between
delicacy and strength. The result is an object that feels both recognizable and estranged, where a traditionally feminine material is reimagined as something substantial, present, and enduring.
